Jorja Smith has one of those voices that makes your heart melt. Whether crooning over a smooth R&B track or letting her voice soar over a garage beat, there’s nothing she can’t do.
The UK songstress’s latest track, ‘Price Of It All’, is taken from the soundtrack to Riz Ahmed’s upcoming Prime Video comedy Bait. The show is described as “a new six-part genre-bending series that follows Shah Latif, an out-of-work British-Pakistani actor whose life begins to spiral when he lands the final audition to play the next James Bond.”
Speaking of Bond, Smith is doing her chances of singing the next 007 theme no harm with ‘Price Of It All’, a track that has all the hallmarks of the long-running spy series.
The official Bait soundtrack drops Wednesday 25 March and features contributions from Anish Kumar, Arooj Aftab, Jay Sean, Véyah, Origin Unknown and MC Shabba D.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Smith’s smash single, ‘Blue Lights’. Peaking at #4 on the UK Indie Singles Chart, the song propelled Smith into the British music consciousness, where she has evolved into one of the country’s biggest artists.
