Foo Fighters have surprised everyone with the sudden release of new live EP, Are Playing Where??? Vol. I.
Only available on Bandcamp, the six-track release features songs performed by the Fooies on their exclusive run of September club shows across the US.
Proceeds from the sale of the EP will go towards charities working to combat food shortages in San Luis Obispo and Santa Ana, California, and Black Cat in D.C. and Toad's Place in New Haven, Connecticut, with the tracks on the EP recorded during shows in those cities.
Are Playing Where??? Vol. I features the songs ‘Alone + Easy Target’, ‘Exhausted’, ‘Wattershed’, ‘Weenie Beenie’, ‘White Limo’ and ‘Winnebago’.
The EP marks the band’s first official release since the single ‘Today’s Song’, which arrived in July of this year, and features new drummer Ilan Rubin.
In a strange twist, the Foos fired Taylor Hawkins’ replacement Josh Freese, who then joined Nine Inch Nails, while Rubin, who was the drummer for Nine Inch Nails, took up the role of stickman with the Foos.

It’s been a disruptive three years for Foo Fighters. After the tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins in 2022, the band went on hiatus before recruiting Freese, who was then dumped after just two years with the Foos.
Last year also saw frontman Dave Grohl admit to fathering a child outside of his marriage in September 2024, causing the band to go on hiatus once again before Rubin joined the band in July of this year.
Foo Fighters are one of the biggest rock bands on the planet. Formed by Grohl as a solo project after the demise of Nirvana, the Foo’s have released 11 studio albums, including ten that charted in the top ten Billboard 200.
The Fooies scored 15 Alternative Airplay #1 singles, 15 Grammy Awards and have performed at the world’s most famous festivals, including Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Sziget.
