Empire of the Sun Reveal 2027 Australian & New Zealand Tour Supports

Ahead of their 2027 Ask That God: Afterlife Tour of Australia and New Zealand, Empire of the Sun have revealed their tour supports.

Perfomring alongside Empire of the Sun in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne will be indie rockers The Temper Trap, fresh from the release of their fourth studio album Sungazer, while pop juggernauts The Jungle Giants will turn up in Adelaide and Perth.

South African-born, London-based electronic dance-rock duo Roi Turbo (brothers Benjamin and Conor McCarthy) will play all Australian and New Zealand shows.

"Ask That God: Afterlife feels like a tour of unknowns and possibilities — new visions, new plateaus, fragile breakthroughs," says Empire of the Sun's Luke Steele. "I think things are going to happen on this tour that have never happened before. We can't wait to take this music and this tour to new frontiers. Let's break barriers together."

The tour begins in New Zealand at Spark Arena in Auckland on Friday 19 February, with Empire of the Sun kicking off their Australian run of concerts at Brisbane's Riverstage on Sunday 21 February. The band then hits Afterpay Arena in Sydney on Thursday 25 February and Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Saturday 27 February, followed by a concert at Adelaide's AEC Arena on Tuesday 2 March before a homecoming performance at RAC Arena in Perth on Saturday 6 March.

The duo of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore have gone on to release three more records – Ice on the Dune (2013), Two Vines (2016) and Ask That God (2024) – selling more than five million albums, garnering six billion streams and taking home an impressive eight ARIA Awards.
