‘SIDEWAYS’ arrives ahead of the trio’s upcoming UK and European tour.

Just days after sharing Deep Cutz, a playlist featuring deep album cuts from DZ Deathray’s six album catalogue, the Brizzy trio have shared new single, ‘SIDEWAYS’.
A rollicking good time, ‘SIDEWAYS’ is DZ at their heavy rock best. Built around a blistering guitar riff, the track arrives via their own imprint, DZ Worldwide.
“Lachy actually dreamt the riff in this song and somehow we turned it into a woozy dance punk track,” says DZ’s Shane Parsons. “I like the way this track almost makes you feel like you're on a speedboat on the verge of getting sea sick, but the adrenaline is keeping you focused.”
The track is accompanied by a music video directed by James Latter. Funded through support from Bundaberg Regional Council, ‘SIDEWAYS’ finds the band performing in the Bundaberg countryside, with drummer Simon Ridley hitting the skins on the back of a ute.

DZ Deathrays have been out there getting it done since 2008, forming when good friends Shane Parsons (vocals/guitar) and Simon Ridley (drums) came together to form a band.
Since then, they’ve added guitarist Lachlan Ewbank and released six studio albums, with their most recent record, 2023’s R.I.F.F, peaking at #8 on the ARIA Album Chart, making it the band’s third top-ten album.
After spending last year on the road celebrating the 10th anniversary of their sophomore album Black Rat and playing more than 40 regional shows, DZ Deathrays are gearing up for a monster tour of the UK and Europe this June and July alongside Press Club, Battlesnake and Mannequin Death Squad.
DZ Deathray’s ‘SIDEWAYS’ is available to stream now. Tickets for the band’s UK and European tour are on sale via dzdeathrays.com.
