Preparing for another assault on Europe and the UK this June and July, Brizzy rockers DZ Deathrays have shared new playlist, Deep Cutz.
As the title suggests, Deep Cutz contains 14 lesser known tracks taken from the band’s six studio albums. Some of the highlights include ‘Nightwalking’ from their debut record, Black Rat, ‘Silver Lining’ from Positive Rising: Part 1, and ‘Love & Destruction’ and ‘Grounded or Dead’ from their most recent release, R.I.F.F..
“A selection of some of our favourite deeper cuts from our albums over the years, arranged as a record. Get to know us on another level as we guide you through some of the heavier and more eccentric songs,” DZ Deathrays posted on Instagram.
While fans would no doubt prefer a new release, this collection of songs is sure to tide them over until the lads get back in the studio and begin work on album number seven.

Staring their musical journey as members of Brisbane’s eclectic Velociraptor, Shane Parsons (vocals/guitar) and Simon Ridley (drums) went their own way in 2008, forming hard rock duo DZ Deathrays.
Expanding to a trio with the addition of Lachlan Ewbank (lead guitar/vocals), DZ have gone on to release six ARIA charting studio albums, with both Bloody Lovely and Positive Rising: Part 2 peaking at #4 on the ARIA Album Charts.
DZ Deathrays’ most recent record, 2023’s R.I.F.F, reached #8 on the ARIA Albums Chart, making it their third top-ten album. The album contains the singles ‘King B’, ‘Paranoid’ and ‘Tuff Luck’ and was well received by critics, with Beat calling the album the band’s “best set yet.”
Having spent the past 12 months performing across the globe, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their sophomore album, Black Rat, and playing more than 40 regional Australian gigs, DZ Deathrays continue to put their foot forward as one of the country’s hardest working acts.
DZ Deathray’s Deep Cutz is available to stream on Spotify.
