American-born Aussie muso Diesel’s By Request Tour has been such a success that the ‘Tip of My Tongue’ hitmaker has announced an extended run of shows in 2026.
Diesel has added 21 more dates to his unique tour experience that finds the audience shaping each set, with the vocalist, songwriter and guitarist taking requests at each concert, resulting in a different performance each night.
“It’s safe to say, when an artist makes a set list, they are second-guessing what people want to hear most of the time,” explains Diesel. “With the By Request Tour, I feel like I’m hitting the sweet spot every night when I compile a set full of songs and anecdotes, directly given to me by the people that are going to be there on the night. As it turns out, we like a lot of the same music (go figure)!
“It’s a distinctly different experience when you perform a song knowing that it’s been asked for, a tangible feeling for the performer and the audience, it has also pushed me into the deep crevices of my back catalogue, with some of my most fervent listeners shining a guiding light through these caves. As I journey into my 4th decade of making music, I can’t think of a better way to look back, take stock and celebrate than to engage with all who have graced me with this longevity.”
The new dates kick off with three shows in Tasmania from Friday 30 January. Then Diesel hits NSW, QLD, NT, SA, ACT and VIC, before fittingly finishing up with a hometown show at the iconic Sydney Opera House on Sunday 26 April.
Pre-sale begins at 10am AEST on Wednesday 29 October 29, with general on-sale taking place at 9am AEST on Thursday 30 October. For full tour and ticketing info, visit dieselmusic.com.au.

Across a career spanning more than 40 years, Mark “Diesel” Lizotte has entrenched himself in the Australian music scene.
Getting his start with his band Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, best known for their smash hit ‘Cry In Shame’, Diesel went solo after the release of the group’s 1989 self-titled debut and quickly established himself as an Aussie rock legend.
With multiple #1 albums, six ARIA Award wins, including three consecutive wins in 1993, 1994 and 1995, and sold-out tours all over the world, there isn’t much Diesel hasn’t achieved.
2023 saw the release of his 17th album, Bootleg Melancholy. Recorded at his home studio, the album is 14 tracks of bluesy rock with rousing hooks and relatable lyrics that add another layer to Diesel’s incredible music career.
