Destinezia Share New Song ‘Faker!'
The track follows 'crooked teeth.' and highlights the band's growth as songwriters.

Adelaide indie rockers Destinezia have followed up their single 'crooked teeth.' with new track 'Faker!'.
Continuing their growth as a band, Destinezia wanted to "embrace the raw energy" of their live shows with 'Faker!', which I'm sure anyone who listens to the track will agree with
"It captured a level of intensity and vibe that has come to define both our sound and our relationship with our fanbase," Destinezia says. "Our live shows are always centred around building a rapport and a shared energy with the audience, and we feel this recording has reflected that energy perfectly.
"We’ve kept a lot of the familiar quirks that have shaped our musical brand previously, but have also explored many distinctly fresh ideas and soundscapes. The result is something innovative, invigorated, and most importantly authentic to us as artists. ‘Faker!’ taps into an enthusiasm and sonic depth that has always driven us as a band, and feels like a powerful leap forward in defining our sound."
Accompanying the release is the official music video for 'Faker!' that was filmed in collaboration with the band's longtime friends and trusted directors, Marlo and Charm.
Combining cartoon colours and psychedelic imagery, Destinezia admits, "this is the most abstract concept we’ve created for a video yet."
"The visual narrative mirrors the lyrical content of the song, with frontman Kyle Jones struggling to understand his surroundings while yearning to be his true self. It’s loud and obnoxious, in all the correct ways. There’s also quite a significant change in aesthetic from previous videos we’ve made. This one is very playfully stylised; the cartoonishness reflects our personalities both off and on the stage. In pairing the song with this visual approach, the video becomes an extension of ‘Faker!’ itself: bold, spirited, and a rewriting of the band’s identity."

Emerging from SA's exciting indie scene, Destinezia have wasted no time carving out their place in the local scene.
The quartet of guitarist and lead vocalist Kyle Jones, keytar and backing vocalist Amy Harriott, bassist Alex Roberts and drummer Eric McMurray are fresh from touring with fellow SA outfit TOWNS, with the tour Destinezia's biggest yet.
"The tour marks a big moment for Destinezia, which is the first time the band has hit the road on a run of this scale, and feels like a natural step forward into a new chapter," the band said about their most recent run of shows. "Sonically, it sees Destinezia sharpen the edges of their sound while holding onto the dreamy, nostalgic feel that’s always been at the centre of the band. The tour is a chance to bring that openness to the stage, play new material live, and let the songs exist in their most raw and vulnerable form."
‘Faker!’ by Destinezia is out now. Listen here.
