Extreme metal pioneers Cradle of Filth and heavy metal titans DevilDriver are bringing their twisted live show to Australia in 2026.
After touring North America together in 2023 to rave reviews from critics, with Ghost Cult Magazine calling their show “a face-grinding heavy package that lived up to the hype and left fans ecstatic”, the two formidable outfits are bringing that energy down under.
Fans can expect to hear all their favourite tracks from both acts when they take over venues across the country in July, starting with Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Thursday 9 July.
Cradle of Filth and DevilDriver then play shows at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday 10 July, Melbourne’s The Forum on Saturday 11 July and Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Tuesday 14 July, with the final gig taking place at Perth’s The Astor on Thursday 16 July.
Pre-sale takes place at 9am AEDT on Thursday 26 February. General public on-sale commences at 9am AEDT on Monday 2 March. Details available at thephoenix.au and metropolistouring.com.
Few bands in the metal genre have been as horrifying or controversial as Cradle of Filth. Led by the sole remaining founding member and vocalist, Dani Filth, the UK band has blazed a path of black metal destruction across the globe since 1991.
Last year was a mixed bag for Cradle of Filth, with the band releasing their 14th studio album, The Screaming of the Valkyries, but also losing members Zoe Marie Federoff and Marek “Ashok” Šmerda, who quit the band and filed a lawsuit agianst Cradel of Filth claiming unauthorised commercial exploitation of their likenesses, unpaid royalties and defamation.
Despite the threat of legal action, Cradle of Filth continues to tour the globe, with frontman Filth unfazed by the actions of his former bandmates.
Things haven’t been plain sailing for DevilDriver either, with the Cali heavy metal act forced to postpone shows last year due to health issues impacting vocalist Dez Fafara.
After forming Coal Chamber in 1992, Fafara moved on and founded DevilDriver in 2002, going on to release ten studio albums and find global success with the band’s groove metal sound.
Catch Cradle of Filth and DevilDriver at Hindley Street Music Hall on Tuesday 14 July. Ticketing information is available at thephoenix.au and metropolistouring.com.
