Sewell began making music at the age of eight and graduated to playing with local bands in his teens before auditioning for season two of Australian Idol. Although he missed out, it solidified his desire to be a musician, with Sewell moving to the UK and forming the band The Frets.
Although short-lived, the duo had moderate success with their single, ‘The Fire’, leading Sewell to collaborate with Kygo on the European smash hit, ‘Firestone’. Sewell’s breakthrough came in 2015 with the release of his second single, ‘Start Again’. The song reached the top of the ARIA Charts and won Sewell an ARIA Award for Song of the Year.
Two albums followed, including last year’s Precious, along with an appearance on The Masked Singer Australia, with Sewell finishing third.
Catch Conrad Sewell at Lion Arts Factory on Thursday, September 26. Tickets are available now via Conrad Sewell’s website.
