Sampha Recruits Little Simz for ‘Satellite Business 2.0’
The original version of the song can be found on his critically acclaimed 2023 album, Lahai.
UK artist Sampha has released a reimagined version of his 2023 tune ‘Satellite Business’ featuring fellow Brit Little Simz.
Entitled ‘Satellite Business 2.0’, the track not only features Simz dropping lyrical darts but has an extended run time of almost five minutes.
The original was taken from Sampha’s 2023 album Lahai, an LP The Guardian’s Alexis Petrids described as “jittery with anxiety and indecision, yet poised and luscious” in his four-star review.
“Simz’s music has been close to my heart and ears for sometime now, which makes her being on this song that more special,” Sampha shared in a statement. “She’s one of my favourite artists. Her confidence and creative bravery are so refreshing. It’s amazing to see someone giving so much to their art.”
Simz added: “I’m so honoured to be a part of this record with Sampha. He truly is one of the most important voices in music today. We have great musical chemistry and respect of each other’s process. Glad I got to stand alongside him on this.”
You can watch the Max Friedman-directed music video for ‘Satellite Business 2.0’, containing footage of Little Simz and Sampha performing the song for the first time live together at Alexandra Palace, London 2024, below.
