Formed in 2012, WAAX have gone through many lineup changes and ups and downs over the years.
Co-founded by drummer Tom Bloomfield and lead vocalist Marie DeVita, WAAX claimed the win at the 2014 triple j Unearthed competition at BIGSOUND.
Two EPs followed, Holy Sick and Wild & Weak, before the group dropped their highly anticipated debut album, Big Grief, which peaked at #11 on the ARIA Albums Chart and gifted fans the hit single ‘Labrador’.
WAAX followed up in 2022 with At Least I'm Free, before going on hiatus. Less than a year later, DeVita announced she was continuing WAAX with a new lineup of musicians, leading to the announcement of ANGEL’S MESS and the band’s upcoming tour, which gives fans the chance to see this new iteration of WAAX live for the first time.
