The Grogans Return With Blistering New Single 'Reasons'

Garage rockers The Grogans return with rousing new single, 'Reasons', out now via Community Music.

Following the lads' acclaimed 2025 album Stagger, 'Reasons' is a balls-to-the-walls dose of classic rock and the first tease of new music from the Melbourne trio.

Harking back to the band's early days, 'Reasons' is The Grogans at their rawest, with the track being about not settling for second place. This is also the first song The Grogans have recorded with an outside producer, with the band connecting with acclaimed producer and mixer Steven Schram (Paul Kelly, Crowded House, TISM, Mildlife), with mastering by Joseph Carra.

"This is Grogans rock 'n' roll in every sense," the band says. "We wanted a start-to-finish wall of energy without it feeling over the top. 'Reasons' is yet another step up sonically. From the room in the drum sound and grit in the guitars to the call-and-response vocals, which tackle the frustration with another person who is making excuses and choosing you last once again. We wanted it to drive forward unapologetically; we wanted it to have energy. 'Reasons' does just that."

Formed in Melbourne a decade ago, The Grogans – Angus Vasic (guitar, vocals), Quin Grunden (bass, vocals) and Jordan Lewis (drums) – have quietly cemented their postion as a hardworking live outfit across five studio albums and countless EPs.

Breaking through in 2019 with their debut album, Just What You Want, four more followed: Day / To / Live (2020), Which Way Is Out (2022), Find Me a Cloud (2023) and this year’s Stagger, with the latter cracking the Top 10 of the ARIA Albums Chart.

Having sold out tours across Australia, North America, the UK, Europe and New Zealand and played festivals including Dauwpop Festival (Netherlands), London Calling (Netherlands), Bangkok Music City (Thailand) and Yours & Owls Festival, the band are ready for the next chapter in their story, with 'Reasons' a great taste of what's to come.
