Bootleg Rascal's ‘Asleep In The Machine’ 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Out Now
The album includes four additional tracks, including a Spanish version of ‘Drop The Gun’.

A decade on from the release of Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based duo Bootleg Rascal's (Carlos Lara and Jimmy Young) seminal debut album Asleep In The Machine, the group have released a deluxe edition of the record that's out now.
This new version of Asleep In The Machine includes the 12 original tracks along with Spanish renditions of 'Drop The Gun' and 'Bones N Bricks', an acoustic version of the title track and fan favourite 'I'd Do Anything', which was previously only available on a vinyl compilation.
Speaking on the Spanish version of 'Drop The Gun', Lara said, "'Drop The Gun' has been a staple in our live sets for a decade now, but singing it in Español completely changes the flavour. It's something I've always wanted to do to bring a bit of my own heritage into the Bootleg Rascal repertoire."
Asleep In The Machine (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) arrives a month out from Bootleg Rascal's massive 14-date Australian tour that will see the duo perform tracks from their debut along with songs from their 2025 self-titled fourth album and all the hits from their extended discography.
Kicking things off at the Arts Factory on Friday 11 September in Cavanbah/Byron Bay, Bootleg Rascal plays Boorloo/Fremantle, Wooditchup/Margaret River, Goomburrup/Bunbury, Eora/Sydney, Dharawal/Wollongong, Meanjin/Brisbane, Larrakia/Darwin, Lutruwita/Hobart, Naarm/Melbourne, Yugambeh/Gold Coast and Kabi Kabi/Sunshine Coast, before wrapping things up in South Australia with gigs at Soul House on Friday 6 November in Ngaltingga/Aldinga and Ed Castle in Tarndanya/Adelaide on Saturday 7 November.

Coming together in late 2012, Bootleg Rascal took Australia and New Zealand by storm in 2016 with Asleep In The Machine, which has garnered over 35 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music.
The record established Bootleg Rascal's signature blend of rock, rap and electronica and led to three more albums: 2018's Anónimo, 2021's Sloppy Seconds and last year's self-titled effort.
Having spent over a decade selling out headline shows across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the USA, the band's upcoming shows are a celebration of their beginnings and a glimpse at the future.
