Proud Yorta Yorta icon Briggs has announced his hardcore outfit, BIG NOTER, is dropping their debut album this year.
Songs In The Key Of Wrestling is set to arrive on Friday 18 September via Island Records Australia and will include the previously released singles ‘Identity’ and ‘Talk Straight’ alongside the new track ‘F.M.D.’.
Produced by Nick Didia (Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam), ‘F.M.D’ is a circle pit-inducing slab of heaviness fueled by the anger and exhaustion Briggs feels from having to defend Aboriginal people in Australia continuously.
“Your average Australian (racist) comment section will have you believe Aboriginal people have FREE Californian bungalows and a Hilux in the driveway,” says Briggs of the track.
“Here's the list of things blackfullas get for free: Diabetes, Heart Disease, Incarceration, Suicide, unemployment and that's just the top 5. Nothing given, only taken away! So look, if you're sick of hearing about it; imagine how we feel?! FMD!"
‘F.M.D.’ is accompanied by a black and white music video shot and edited by Tomise that’s very reminiscent of the hardcore music clips of the ‘80s.

Best known as one of Australia’s premier rappers, having released two critically acclaimed solo albums and a collaborative album with trials under the alias A.B. Original, Briggs foray into the hardcore genre is a natural evolution for the truth spitter, who grew up listening to Ice T’s Bodycount.
