Bad//Dreems Share New Single ‘JANUARY 26’
By The Note

This is the third track taken from Bad//Dreems upcoming fifth studio album, ULTRA DUNDEE.
Adelaide’s Bad//Dreems surprise dropped new single ‘JANUARY 26’ earlier this week.
Following the release of singles ‘SHADOWLAND’ and ‘ULTRA DUNDEE’, which are both taken from Bad//Dreems’ upcoming fifth studio album ULTRA DUNDEE, out Friday 20 March via Gutto Records (pre-order here), the group’s latest track is a subtle, emotional exploration of Australia Day and why we shouldn’t be celebrating the day.
Accompanying the song is a music video shot and edited by Sam Brumby, highlighting Australian landscapes alongside this note from the band:
“This song was written on January 26th 2025.
“For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, January 26 is a day of mourning, marking the start of the invasion and colonisation of this country, the mass genocide of First Nations peoples, and the dispossession of cultural practices, language and Country. First Nations communities have different names for January 26, including Invasion Day, Survival Day and Day of Mourning.
“Bad//Dreems have been incredibly fortunate to meet and learn from Aboriginal people all over Australia through our music.
“We stand in solidarity with First Nations people in their ongoing struggle for truth telling an justice.”
