2026 is shaping up as a big year for local legends Bad//Dreems, with the Adelaide pub rockers releasing their fifth album, Ultra Dundee, in March next year, and announcing a run of Australian shows. If that’s not enough, they’ve also shared the title track to their new album.
Following on from recent single ‘SHADOWLANDS’, Bad//Dreems’ first taste of new music since their 2023 album, HOO HA!, new track ‘Ultra Dundee’ is classic Bad/Dreems, with the band’s riff-heavy rock paired with vocalist Ben Marwe’s unsettling portrait of Aussie culture.
The track is accompanied by a music video filmed at the Lower Light pub on the northern outskirts of Adelaide by director Kaius Potter. The music video is the second instalment in a series of clips set to form a short film based around the character Ultra Dundee, played by Marwe.
As for Bad//Dreems’ fifth studio album, Ultra Dundee was recorded earlier this year and produced with Dan Luscombe (Amyl and the Sniffers, Courtney Barnett) at Mixmasters Studios in Adelaide. The record is scheduled for release via the band’s own record label Gutto Records on Friday 20 March (pre-order here).
To celebrate the release of Ultra Dundee, Bad//Dreems have announced three shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane across April and May next year. Before Adelaide fans get their knickers in a knot, Bad//Dreems have promised they are working on something extra special for their hometown fans, with more details to follow in the New Year.
Tickets for all three shows are on sale now via oztix.com.au.

Hometown heroes Bad//Dreems have become one of the country’s most important rock acts since bursting onto the scene in 2015 with their seminal debut album, Dogs At Bay. Produced by Mark Opitz (AC/DC, INXS, Cold Chisel), the album shines a light on the underbelly of everyday suburban life.
The band followed up with three more critically acclaimed studio albums – 2017’s Gutful, 2019’s Doomsday Ballet and 2023’s HOO HA! – the latter of which garnered a nomination for Best Rock Album at the ARIA Awards and came in at #2 on Double J’s 50 Best Albums of the Year.
The group have also released two rocking live albums – 2015’s Live at Fowler’s and 2024’s Quality Meats – across the journey and are preparing for the next chapter in the Bad//Dreems story with Ultra Dundee.
The current lineup of Ben Marwe (vocals), Alex Cameron (guitar), Ali Wells (guitar), Deon Slaviero (bass), and Miles Wilson (drums) has just completed a tour around Australia celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album.
Dogs At Bay remains a raw, vulnerable and unflinching portrait of contemporary Australia, propelled by gritty guitars and Marwe’s unfiltered lyrics that helped usher in a new generation of Aussie pub rockers such as Amyl and the Sniffers, The Chats and Pist Idiots. As guitarist/songwriter Alex Cameron said at the time of the release of Dogs At Bay, “We wanted to show that it was ok to like football and poetry.”
