Adelaide Rockers Purée Return With Exhilarating New Single 'Wait'

It's been a minute since Adelaide quartet Purée dropped new music, so I was pleasantly surprised when their new track landed in my inbox this morning.

Released via GYRO, the track is about two people who care deeply about each other but continue to have differing points of view.

"It's about feeling like you’re speaking two different languages and every conversation ends up going in circles," the band explain. "It’s honest, emotional, and hopefully something that feels familiar to anyone who’s ever struggled with loving, arguing and the sometimes uncomfortable nature of close relationships."

The creation of 'Wait' also represents a change in the way the band works, with Mack initially writing and recording the track at the home he shares with fellow band member Matt. Tweaking the song over several months, the rest of the band added their two cents over the course of the song's evolution.

"The house was constantly filled with the song and an array of ideas flying around," the band recalls, with the awesome foursome embracing a more flexible and collaborative approach to songwriting.

Falling somewhere between indie rock and jangly pop, Purée comprise local lads Jack, Liam and Mackenzie.

Their 2025 EP What Happens Now? was well received by critics and fans, and the band have toured nationally and supported the likes of Beddy Rays, Rob Thomas, Dear Seattle, DICE and more

Currently on the road supporting The Velvet Club, Purée are honing their live show as they embark on the next chapter of their story.
