3% Share New Single 'Not Many – Ganay Biralunbar'

First Nations collective 3% have joined forces with Butchulla Songman Fred Leone to reimagine a hip hop classic on new single 'Not Many – Ganay Biralunbar', out now via 1788 RECORDS/Believe.

If you haven't already guessed, the track takes inspiration from pioneering Aotearoa/New Zealand MC Scribe's 2003 hit 'Not Many'.

What was once a rap battle cry is now soundtracking the NRL finals series on Fox Sports. 

The track features Leone singing the opening in Butchulla, a language in revitalisation carried by a handful of people, while Nooky and Dallas Woods provide potent raps over the yidaki sampling beat. The song also introduces 3%'s newest member, Darumbal and Tongan woman Mi-kaisha.

"One spear in the ground and we're sending the other to the cuzzies in Aotearoa as a sign of respect. Because we fight the same fight," says Leone.

The track is accompanied by a music video made with Fox Sports that features the legendary Scribe.

'Not Many – Ganay Biralunbar' follows 3%'s collab with The Terrys, 'All Gucci', and the driving 'Welcome 2 Country', which delves into the true history of a Welcome to Country and the cascade of ironies that it carries within today’s context.

These songs continue to position 3% as one of Australia's most important musical groups, which is backed by ARIA wins, four NIMA nominations, triple j and Rolling Stone praise and a live run that’s taken them from Vivid Sydney and Dreamtime at the 'G to supporting Denzel Curry on a national tour.
