2026 Air Awards Nominees Announced
This year marks the 20th edition of the AIR Awards, which will once again be held in Adelaide, Australia’s UNESCO-designated City of Music.

The nominees for the 20th edition of the AIR Awards are finally here.
A celebration of Australia’s Independent Music sector, the AIR Awards will once again be held in Adelaide, Australia’s UNESCO-designated City of Music, in conjunction with AIR’s Indie-Con Australia Conference and A2IM’s Indie Week Australian Edition.
Taking over Adelaide Town Hall on Thursday 30 July, this year’s AIR Awards features 23 categories, including two new awards in the Dance/Electronic Award categories – Best Independent Dance/Club Single and Best Independent Electronic Single.
Emerging electronic producer and DJ Ninajirachi leads the charge with the most nominees this year. The dynamic artist is up for Best Independent Electronic Single, Best Independent Electronic Album or EP, Independent Song of the Year and Independent Album of the Year.
At the same time, the creative team behind her releases have been nominated for Independent Music Video of the Year, Independent Mix, Studio or Mastering Engineer of the Year, Independent Marketing Team of the Year, Independent Publicity Team of the Year and Independent Producer of the Year.
When it comes to the coveted Independent Song of the Year, the nominations are Jem Cassar-Daley for ‘Kiss Me Like You’re Leaving’, Keli Holiday for ‘Dancing2’, Ninajirachi for ‘iPod Touch’, Playlunch for ‘Keith’ and Way Dynamic for ‘Miffed It’.
Independent Album of the Year sees Folk Bitch Trio nominated for Now Would Be A Good Time, Ninajirachi for I Love My Computer, The 046 for Legacy In Motion, The Belair Lipbombs for Again and Way Dynamic for Massive Shoe.
