2026 Alliance Française French Film Festival Reveals First Lineup of Films
This year’s festival features the Australian premiere of gripping fashion drama, Coutures.

The 2026 Alliance Française French Film Festival returns in March, with organisers revealing the first seven films making up the program.
The annual film festival is a wonderful showcase of contemporary French cinema that runs from Wednesday 18 March to Wednesday 22 April at Palace Nova Prospect Cinemas and Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas.
This year’s event features several Australian premieres, including Jean Valjean, a stirring adaptation of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables, François Ozon directing a daring vision of Albert Camus’ existential masterpiece L’Étranger (The Stranger), the hilarious yet heartfelt comedy C’est Quoi L’amour ? (What Is Love?) and gripping drama, Coutures, which stars Oscar-winning Angelina Jolie.
Also announced as part of the first program lineup are drama Partir Un Jour (Leave One Day), sci-fi thriller Chien 51 (DOG 51) and social satire Classe Moyenne (The Party’s Over!).

This year’s festival will showcase films on more than 6,000 screens across 17 cities in partnership with Palace Cinemas, with additional venues to be announced shortly.
