Danish-Swedish prog metal act VOLA have announced their debut Australian tour, hitting our shores in February 2026.
The Friend of a Phantom tour comes in support of VOLA’s fourth studio album, which just so happens to be called Friend of a Phantom.
Produced and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, The Black Dahlia Murder), the record pushed the boundaries of VOLA’s sonic range and received solid reviews from critics, with Metal Hammer writing, “VOLA continue to flex their creative muscles while maintaining their core identity and, amid the already satisfying intricate soundscapes and soaring vocals throughout, there are definite flashes of brilliance to be found here.”
VOLA are touring with Perth prog rockers Primrose Path and have locked in five dates across the country next February 2026.
The tour begins at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Monday 9 February. It continues with dates at Sydney’s Manning Bar on Tuesday 10 February, Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Thursday 12 February, and Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Friday 13 February, before coming to a close at Perth’s Magent House on Saturday 14 February.

Formed in Copenhagen in 2006, VOLA went through several lineup changes during the early years before settling on the current combination of original members Asger Mygind (guitars, lead vocals) and Martin Werner (keyboards) alongside Nicolai Mogensen (bass, synth backing vocals) and Adam Janzi (drums).
Influenced by the likes of Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Massive Attack and Steven Wilson, VOLA have released four EPs, four studio albums and one live album.
Touring the US across this September, the quartet returns home for a special show celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut album Inmazes before embarking on their Aussie adventure in February 2026.
