In a recent chat The Note had with Three D Radio’s Chair Sonia Mir and Volunteers Rep Tiff Stodart, Mir discussed how SONIC SPIRE came about and the involvement of Carlew.
“What started as a bit of crazy idea to throw a party for our new combiner and tower upgrades, evolved into something really special to celebrate community radio and the Adelaide music scene,” explained Mir. “And all on the grounds of Carlew, it’s a great pairing for us to be at the home of youth arts for this event. We are really excited to be curating our own mini festival.
SONIC SPIRE also commemorates South Australia’s rich cultural heartbeat and ten years since Adelaide received UNESCO City of Music status – making it Australia’s first and only UNESCO City of Music.
