As The Temper Trap gear up for the release of Sungazer, their first studio album in 10 years, the Melbourne quartet have today announced a five-date national tour in support of the LP.
Dropping Friday 10 July via Mushroom Music/Virgin Music Group, Sungazer is The Temper Trap’s first album since 2016’s Thick As Thieves and arrives four years after the band took an extended hiatus.
“With time apart and much personal growth from us all, Sungazer feels like it’s captured the most pure collection of music we’ve ever made,” says the band about their new record. “We had more fun making this record and in the writing room than on any of the previous records we’ve done. We’re in a great place creatively, and in our friendships, we’re closer than ever. Being back into the studio together really felt like coming home.”
The Temper Trap’s long-awaited Aussie tour commences with a hometown show in Melbourne at the Forum on Friday 11 September. The band then swings by Brisbane for a Night At The Parkland on Saturday 12 September, followed by headline performances at Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide on Wednesday 16 September and Sydney’s Night At The Barracks on Friday 18 September, rounding things out with a final show at ICF: Warehouse in Perth on Friday 9 October.
Frontier Members have first dibs via the Frontier pre-sale on Thursday 16 April from 10am AEST, before general on-sale kicks off at 11am AEST on Friday 17 April. Tickets and tour information via frontiertouring.com.
