The Space Lady Announces 2026 Australian Tour
The American icon is bringing her Casio compositions to Adelaide’s Arthur Art Bar in January.

The American music icon known as The Space Lady returns in 2026 for a run of Australian shows.
A street musician in Boston throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, The Space Lady (aka Susan Dietrich), gained a reputation for her otherworldly performances that saw her performing with an accordion while wearing her famed winged helmet, playing covers of classic songs alongside originals.
When her accordion was stolen, The Space Lady acquired a Casio keyboard and began releasing synth pop space music, with her most well-known song being the ethereal ‘Synthesize Me’.
After selling out concerts across the country in 2024, The Space Lady is heading back our way next year, commencing her tour on Thursday 8 January at Cave Inn in Brisbane.
She then plays dates at Sydney’s Petersham Bowling Club on Friday 9 January, Melbourne’s Brunswick Bandroom on Saturday 10 January, Adelaide’s Arthur Art Bar on Friday 16 January and Perth’s Buffalo Club on Saturday 17 January.

The Space Lady captivated audiences with her engaging and dynamic performances, releasing several albums before officially retiring in 2000 to help care for her elderly parents.
During this time, she got a nursing degree and moved on from music, but when her cover of ‘I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night’ became popular after appearing on volume two of the outsider music compilation Songs in the Key of Z, her husband, a fellow artist, urged The Space Lady to return to music.
This proved to be the right thing to do, with The Space Lady signing with London’s Night School Records in 2013 and releasing The Space Lady's Greatest Hits.
A 2014 US West Coast tour followed, and it wasn’t long before The Space Lady was performing in clubs and venues across the world, including Europe, the UK and Australia.
