Pub rockers The Southern River Band have announced a national tour to celebrate the release of their hotly anticipated debut album, D.I.Y.
Containing re-recorded versions of live favourites ‘Sezza B’, ‘Chasin’, ‘Chimney’, ‘Miss Me’, ‘Ciggies’ and ‘Vice II’ alongside recent singles ‘Vice III’ and ‘Stan’, the band say D.I.Y. is “a real Rock n Roll record, 4 fukheads in a room playin together.” Noice.
D.I.Y. drops August 16 via Cooking Vinyl Australia (pre-order/pre-save here), a week before The Southern River Band hit the road on their 13-date national tour.
Kicking things off in Adelaide at the Crown & Anchor on Thursday, August 22, the band then performs at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne on Friday, August 23 and the Altar in Hobart on Sunday, August 25. Then it’s on to The Baso in Canberra on Wednesday, August 28, Dicey Rileys in Wollongong on Thursday, August 29 and Selinas in Sydney on Friday, August 30.
The next leg of the tour begins on Sunday, September 1 at King Street in Newcastle and continues at Hoey Moey in Coffs Harbour on Wednesday, September 4, Bangalow Bowlo in Byron Bay on Friday, September 6 and The Black Room in Brisbane on Saturday, September 7.
The final three shows of the tour take place on the Gold Coast at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse on Sunday, September 8, Magnet House in Perth on Friday, September 27 and Freo Social in Fremantle on Friday, October 4.
