Scottish experimental rockers The Beta Band are finally touring Australia this year, and have this week revealed their excellent tour support.
Alt-electro pioneer Death in Vegas, led by frontman Richard Fearless, will be opening up for The Beta Band with an energetic DJ set featuring both original songs and tracks from his favourite artists.
Over the past 30 years, Death in Vegas have played some of the biggest dance clubs on the planet and supported the likes of Suicide, Primal Scream and Nine Inch Nails. Death in Vegas’ upcoming run of dates with The Beta Band also marks the outfit’s first-ever Aussie visit.
After reforming last year and touring the US and UK, The Beta Band are bringing their tour to Australia, where they will perform their 1998 album The Three E.P.'s in full, along with fan favourites.
The Beta Band play Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday 30 May, Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Sunday 31 May, Adelaide’s The Gov on Wednesday 3 June and Melbourne’s Forum on Thursday 4 June, wrapping things up in Fremantle at the Metropolises on Saturday 6 June.

Coming to prominence in the late ‘90s with hit singles ‘Dry The Rain’ and ‘Squares’, The Beta Band became the talk of the UK music scene.
Counting Radiohead and Oasis as fans, they released three terrific albums – The Beta Band (1999), Hot Shots II (2001) and Heroes to Zeros (2004) – before breaking up in 2004.
Reforming in 2025, the band decided to hit the road, with frontman Steve Mason pitching the reunion tour as “a chance to see one of the greatest British bands of the last 30 years – before they turn us into holograms.”
