‘Dracula’ is the third single taken from Tame Impala’s upcoming fifth studio album, Deadbeat, which will arrive via Columbia Records on October 17 (pre-order/pre-save here)
“It’s kind of the oldest song from the album process. It’s kind of one of the ones I started first,” Parker told Zane Lowe about the song on Apple Music 1. “That’s, like, an example of one of the ones that started in this really raw, minimal way, and then just sort of, like, slowly expanded into this sort of, like, pop.”
‘Dracula’ is much more pop than psych-rock and is accompanied by a music video directed by Julian Klincewicz, who also directed the visuals for the ‘End of Summer’ music video. It shows Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker being followed by a truck towing a house that comes upon a bushdoof in the middle of nowhere.
