Western Australian-based indie rockers Fool Nelson have shared new single ‘Big Shot’, taken from the trio’s upcoming third EP, Bad Dreams, which arrives Friday 17 October.
Produced and mixed by Andy Lawson (The Buoys, Death by Denim) and mastered by George Georgiadis (Ruby Fields, Hockey Dad), ‘Big Shot’ has an upbeat summer vibe with one hell of a catchy guitar riff.
“‘Big Shot’ was written as a reminder for us to remember what's actually important,” the band shares. “It's about ego getting the best of us, and making it feel like we can do everything on our own. The song talks about how important the people around us are in helping to stay grounded and reminding us of what matters.”
The track follows the previously released singles ‘Don’t Feel Right’ and ‘Bad Dreams’, all of which are taken from Fool Nelson’s upcoming Bad Dreams EP.
Fool Nelson are also heading out on the road next month for a run of shows across the country in support of Bad Dreams. Kicking things off at The Tote in Narrm/Melbourne on Friday 10 October, the indie trio have shows lined up at Jive in Tarntanya/Adelaide (Saturday 11 October), Vinnies Dive in Mundharaba/Southport (Thursday 16 October), The Brightside in Meanjin/Brisbane (Friday 17 October), Solbar in Maroochydore/Sunshine Coast (Saturday 18 October), The Lansdowne Hotel in Eora/Sydney (Friday 24 October), La La La’s in Dharawal/Wollongong (Saturday 25 October) and two shows at The Y HQ in Boorloo/Leederville (Friday 31 October and Saturday 1 November ).
