Crooked Colours New Album 'Dirt Gold Road' Out Now
The alternative dance project is also hitting the road this October and November.

Aussie electronic project Crooked Colours has shared new album, Dirt Road Gold, out now via Sweat It Out.
The first Crooked Colours album not to feature Leon Debaughn and Liam Merrett-Park, Dirt Road Gold was crafted by sole remaining member Philip Leonard Slabber, who took the reins in 2023.
Consisting of 12 tracks, the album follows 2022's Tomorrows and continues to push musical boundaries. A heavily introspective piece of work, Slabber reflects, "Every decision feels more personal. There's no hiding behind anything, which is confronting, but also really empowering. It forced me to trust my instincts in a way I never have before.
Slabber continues, "This record came from a pretty transitional place in my life. A lot changed — not just musically, but personally too. Stepping into this next chapter as a solo project meant I had to really sit with myself and figure out what I actually wanted to say. There’s a kind of honesty that comes with that, but also a bit of vulnerability."
Speaking of the overall process, heart and creativity behind Dirt Road Gold Slabber touches further on this deeply intimate and legacy-building moment, "The vision for this album was to create something that feels honest to where I’m at right now, but still connected to the DNA of Crooked Colours. It’s not about reinventing everything - it’s about evolving it. Letting it breathe, letting it grow. At its core, this record is about change - and learning to be okay with it."
