The '90s just keep on keeping on, with two of the decade's biggest rock acts, Soul Asylum and Ugly Kid Joe, announcing a co-headline tour of Australia.

Grammy Award winners Soul Asylum and Californian record-breakers Ugly Kid Joe have locked in five dates across March 2027, marking the first joint run between the two alt-rock trailblazers and the first time Soul Asylum have performed in Australia in almost three decades.

The tour gets underway in Perth at the Astor Theatre on Monday 15 March, with the two acts then hitting Adelaide's Hindley Street Music Hall on Wednesday 17 March, followed by concerts at the Forum in Melbourne on Thursday 18 March and Sydney's Roundhouse on Saturday 20 March, wrapping up on Sunday 21 March at The Tivoli in Brisbane.

Soul Asylum and Ugly Kid Joe were both at the forefront of the alt-rock scene in the '90s.

Emerging in the '80s, Soul Asylum rose to fame with the release of their 1992 album Grave Dancers Union, featuring the hit single 'Runaway Train', which climbed to #5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and took home the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song in 1994. The band has gone on to release 13 studio albums and shared stages with Guns N' Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, The Cure, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead and many more.

Ugly Kid Joe broke out the same year as their tour mates with their 1992 debut album America's Least Wanted. The album contained the hit singles 'Everything About You' and 'Cat's in the Cradle', the latter a cover of the Harry Chapin classic. After disbanding in 1997, Ugly Kid Joe reunited in 2010 and have continued to tour globally and release albums, with the band working on their next LP.

Don't miss your chance to catch two of the great '90s outfits next year when Soul Asylum and Ugly Kid Joe roll through a town near you.
