Ruel returns with new single ‘Hate Myself’, the second taste of his upcoming third studio album, Kicking My Feet & Screaming.
A sequel to last year’s Kicking My Feet, Ruel’s new album is out Friday 12 June via Recess Records/Virgin Music (pre-order here). It features 10 tracks with input from Julian Bunetta, John Ryan, Kenny Beats, M-Phazes, Dan Wilson and Leroy Clampit.
‘Hate Myself’ is produced by Kenny Beats (Ed Sheeran, Dominic Fike, Jorja Smith) and co-written by Ruel, Kenneth Blume and Jackson Morgan.
At just two and a half minutes long, it’s a short but magnetic burst of Ruel’s trademark powerful vocals over a booming beat and synthesised electric guitar, crafting a futuristic alt-pop song.
It follows the album’s first single, ‘Don’t Say That’, a track Ruel co-wrote with Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Lorde, Gracie Abrams) and Sean Douglas (Selena Gomez, 5 Seconds of Summer, Lewis Capaldi).
