iOTA Announces New Album 'Hours Disappear' & Australian Tour

New Zealand-Australian creative iOTA has announced the release of his long-awaited new album, Hours Disappear, out Friday 25 September via MGM.

iOTA's first release in a decade, following 2016's acclaimed Wolf Number Nine, the acoustic album features stripped-back versions of iOTA's classic songs alongside new material, including singles 'Home Song', 'Bitter Wine' and the recently released 'Come Back for Me', a reimagined take on a fan favourite.

Of the song, iOTA shares: “I was listening back to a cassette tape of random riffs I had recorded and knew that I had something cool when I heard the 'Come Back' chord progression. Paired with the recent weeks spent coaching a close friend through a difficult time with his ex-girlfriend who had moved to London (and a little creative license), 'Come Back for Me' became the perfect heartache anthem."

 To celebrate the release of Hours Disappear, iOTA is embarking on a national tour that kicks off at the Brunswick Ballroom in Melbourne on Friday 16 October. iOTA then has two shows lined up at Sydney's The Vanguard on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October, followed by gigs at Katoomba's Baroque Room on Friday 23 October, Brisbane's Junk Bar on Sunday 25 October, Kiama's Filmore's on Friday 30 October and Trinity Sessions in Adelaide on Friday 13 November. The tour rounds out with concerts at Canberra's Smith's Alternative on Saturday 14 November, Danger Island's Dangar Island Bowlo on Saturday 5 December and Newcastle's Flamingos on Sunday 6 December.

While it's been a long time between drinks for iOTA, there's been plenty of reasons why, with the talented artist having spent time performing in theatre, including productions Rocky Horror and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, while also appearing as the iconic Doof Warrior in Mad Max: Fury Road and popping up in The Great Gatsby.

Now back focused on music, iOTA is excited to release Hours Disappear and perform live for his adoring fans later this year.
