Queer, Nu-Folk, Irish Singer-Songwriter Gráinne Hunt Announces Australian Tour 2026

Acclaimed Ireland-based singer-songwriter Gráinne Hunt has announced an Australian tour taking place across the country this March.
Supported by Culture Ireland, Hunt is performing as a duo with San Diego’s Jules Stewart on drums and vocals, with the pair having been described as “the bi-continental queer folk duo you didn’t know you needed in your life.”
One of Ireland’s most compelling voices, Hunt’s upcoming tour begins with a performance at this year’s Port Fairy Folk Festival from Friday 6 to Monday 9 March. Hunt and Stewart then play Woy Woy’s Troubadour Folk Club on Friday 13 March, Allambie Heights’ Humph Hall on Saturday 14 March, Marrickville’s Gasoline Pony on Sunday 15 March, Canberra’s Smith’s Alternative on Sunday 16 March, Melbourne’s Celtic Festival on Monday 17 March, Castlemaine’s Shedshaker Brewing on Tuesday 18 March and the Yackandandah Folk Festival from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 March.
The final three shows take place at Adelaide’s Wheatsheaf Hotel with Great Aunt on Wednesday 25 March, Geelong’s Antler Distillery as part of the National Celtic Festival Launch on Friday 27 March and St Kilda’s George Lane with Great Aunt on Saturday 28 March.

A born storyteller, Hunt has released two solo albums and a live EP. Her music draws from personal experiences, with Hunt’s songs often compared to Tracy Chapman and Natalie Merchant.
Throughout her career, she’s performed with some of music's biggest names, including Glen Hansard, U2, Gladys Knight and Mary Black, and has completed two well-received US tours
Kicking off 2026 with a showcase at Folk Alliance International in New Orleans, Hunt then tours Australia before returning to the US.
Along with her San Diego-based drummer and vocalist, Jules Stewart, the duo are excited to perform on Australian stages, delivering an intimate and powerful live experience for music lovers.
