Self-proclaimed “bogan funk” ensemble Playlunch return with ‘Keith’, another hilarious single taken from their as yet-to-be-named forthcoming new album.
Following their mini-hit ‘Boys’, which dropped in February, the band’s latest is a genre-bending slice of upbeat funk-infused pub rock about a fella named Keith who isn’t a fan of people parking in his spot.
The track, which will have you spitting out your beer with laughter, is accompanied by a music video featuring AFL great Barry Hall, playing the song’s titular Keith, a bald gent with anger issues, which isn’t too much of a stretch for Hall, considering how he played his footy.
The clip has some wickedly funny moments, and the addition of Hall has created a buzz around ‘Keith’, with the tune Playlunch’s most viewed song on YouTube. Check it out below.

Speaking about the track, Playlunch’s Liam Bell says: “‘Keith’ regales the tale of the psycho tradie neighbour who lived beside us at our old outer-Melbourne sharehouse. Inseparable from his Ute and beloved two-wheeler trailer, Keith would terrorise the streets, verbally assaulting anyone who DARED leave their car in the on-street parking out front of his house.
“From the moment we first played it live, this one has been a fan favourite - no matter who you are or where you come from, EVERYONE knows a Keith.”
To hype the single, Playlunch have launched a hotline number – 1800 KEITH, where fans can call up and leave their own stories about a “Keith” they’ve run into.
