After huge success overseas, Obscura are bringing their When Worlds Collide Guitar Clinic Tour to Australian and New Zealand shows.

Heading our way as part of this year's monster Shred Fest lineup alongside Fallujah, Obscura guitarist and vocalist Steffen Kummerer will lead the masterclasses that offer an in-depth look into the creative and technical aspects of Obscura.

The program features selected performances from across the band's catalogue, detailed discussions on songwriting, guitar technique, recording, live performance, and Kummerer's signature ESP Guitars and ENGL amplifier setups.

Keen fans can even pose a few questions for Kummerer, with each clinic concluding with a Q&A, signing session and meet & greet, allowing fans and musicians to interact directly with Kummerer.

Taking place on the same day as Shred Fest, the clinics kick off in Perth at The Rosemount on Thursday 3 September, followed by Adelaide's Lion Arts Factory on Friday 4 September, Canberra's The Baso on Wednesday 9 September, Sydney's Manning Bar on Thursday 10 September, Melbourne's The Corner on Friday 11 September and Darwin's Kalymnian Brotherhood Hall on Sunday 13 September.

The clinics then head to New Zealand, setting up shop at Auckland's Whammy on Tuesday 15 September, followed by Valhalla in Wellington on Wednesday 16 September and Churchill's Tavern in Christchurch on Thursday 17 September, before heading back to Australia for the final demonstration in Hobart on Saturday 19 September at Altar.

Admission is free for all Shred Fest 2026 ticket holders, with pre-sale ticket holders automatically granted access to the clinic; however, register via email at yourmatebookings@gmail.Com with your name & city, and Your Mate Bookings will send times and instructions.

These clinics are a great bonus for anyone attending this year's Shred Fest, which features headliners Obscura and Fallujah alongside the likes of Perth's death-doom outfit Ashen and Sydney's death metal brutes Anoxi, along with a stack of local talent.

"We're thrilled to bring Shred Fest to Australia in 2026 alongside the crushing talents of Fallujah, Anoxia, and Ashen," Obscura revealed in a statement. "It’s been a long time coming, and we're ready to deliver a relentless set for our fans down under. No VIP packages — every band will be at the venue to meet you, talk music, and celebrate the most extreme sounds around. Come early, stay late, and support every act. We can’t wait to see you all there."

Fallujah added, "We’re stoked to announce that Fallujah will return to Australia once again in 2026, this time alongside prog metal legends OBSCURA! We can’t wait to head back down under with a heavy selection of songs from our new album, Xenotaph. These shows will be crazy; get your tickets now before they sell out!"

Obscura's When Worlds Collide Guitar Clinic takes over Lion Arts Factory on Friday 4 September. Entry is free for Shred Fest ticket holders. Grab tickets to Shred Fest at yourmatebookings.com and shredfest.net.
