Local alt-rock trio Nocturnal Animals begin their Australian tour this weekend with a gig at the Crown and Anchor. The self-proclaimed ‘skeleton boys’ are hitting the road over the next month alongside punk rockers PVCKER UP on the ‘What You Need Tour’.

The band have six dates locked in, with the first at the Cranker this Saturday, May 25. Nocturnal Animals then hit Bad Decisions in Melbourne on Saturday, June 1, Elsewhere on the Gold Coast on Friday, June 14 and Tomcat in Brisbane on Saturday, June 15.

Those lucky enough to be in NSW can catch the band for free when they play Hamilton Station in Newcastle on Thursday, June 20 and The Duke in Sydney on Saturday, June 22.

To celebrate the tour, Nocturnal Animals has dropped the engaging post-rock single ‘Ashlee’s Berceuse’. You can listen to the track below.

Known for their energetic live shows featuring the band wearing skeleton makeup and red jumpsuits, Nocturnal Animals has established themselves as one of Adelaide’s best live acts in a very short time.

Their 2022 debut EP, Paint a Picture, marked them as ones to watch, and since then the band has gone from strength to strength.

Not only has their music been well-received, with last year’s singles ‘Covered in Chrome’ and ‘Panic Attack’ clear highlights in their growing repertoire, but the band has shared the stage with some incredible talent, including Suicidal Tendencies, The Delta Riggs, Press Club, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, DZ Deathrays, Ocean Grove and more.

Tickets for Nocturnal Animals ‘What You Need Tour’ are on sale now via the band’s website.
