New Owners Take Over Historic Grace Emily Hotel

Grace Emily Hotel publican Symon Jarowyj has announced he is stepping away from the iconic pub after nearly 16 years behind the bar.

After putting his heart and soul into the venue, Jarowyj finishes up on Monday (August 31), choosing to sell the pub so he can spend more time with his family.

"This will be my final weekend after nearly 16 years as Publican of the Grace Emily Hotel," Jarowyj said in a statement posted on social media.

"I've had a blast but need more time with my beautiful family. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the culture and longevity of our little venue. Forever grateful.

"New publicans Kyle, Joseph and Shane will build upon the 28 years of history. If you're around Friday night, there will be some cheap drinks going with a shit disco, and Monday will be my final night. Much love. Sym."

The new owners are well known in the Adelaide scene, with Kyle Landman from punk band Young Offenders and Proof Bar owners Joe Wilkinson and Shane Ettridge taking over.

While the new owners are yet to share an announcement regarding the Grace, it's in good hands, with all three having a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Established in 1854, the Grace Emily Hotel has been a staple of Adelaide's live music scene since the '70s, when local pub rock acts such as Cold Chisel and The Angles played there regularly.

It has remained one of Adelaide's most beloved live venues, and we are excited to see where it heads with the new owners.
