MusicSA has announced a new initiative, The Scouted Sessions, a bold reimagining of its long-running Scouted program.
After more than a decade of supporting up-and-coming artists through Scouted, MusicSA are transforming the annual showcase into a bespoke intensive career development experience for up to 10 emerging South Aussie acts.
This new setup means ongoing development and support for those chosen to be part of The Scoutede Sessions, with artists selected by an independent industry panel. Each act will attend IndieCon Australia 2026 and work with MusicSA to identify key industry contacts and facilitate targeted introductions between artists and the interstate and international delegates most relevant to their career goals.
The work doesn’t stop there, with each artist receiving one-on-one mentoring from an industry expert. They will also attend group workshops spanning stagecraft, marketing and PR, touring, artist management, deal-making and more over a period of three months.
The end goal is to co-develop a strategic business plan mapping out each artist’s next one to three years, built on real career objectives and actionable goals.

Speaking about the launch of The Scouted Sessions, MusicSA CEO, Christine Schloithe, said: “Scouted has given South Australian artists an incredible moment on stage for over a decade, and we're enormously proud of what it achieved.
“The Scouted Sessions takes this to the next level. Scouted Sessions isn't a showcase, it's sustained investment in artists, their goals and their next steps in a way that creates real career trajectory.”
Supported by the Government of South Australia's Music Development Office, The Scouted Sessions continues MusicSA's commitment to building sustainable careers for the state's next generation of talent, further cementing Adelaide's reputation as Australia's only UNESCO City of Music.
Expressions of interest are now open and close 11:59pm ACST on Wednesday 22 July. South Australian artists can apply to be part of the program at musicsa.com.au.
