After being forced to reschedule his Australian tour last year due to health issues, Scottish singer-songwriter and producer Midge Ure is looking forward to heading our way this October.

The accomplished vocalist, who has had success as a member of Ultravox, The Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy and Visage, as well as a solo artist, returns to Australia for the first time in six years to perform all his biggest hits from a career spanning nearly 60 years.

"I performed live long before I was ever allowed anywhere near a recording studio, and as much as I love spending time writing and recording, live music remains my first love," Ure said in a statement. "This Catalogue tour will allow me to not only play a wide selection of hits from my past but perform some of the most requested favourites. Revisiting these moments from my musical life is something I am really looking forward to sharing."

Ahead of his tour, Ure has revealed songwriter Cole Stacey will be accompanying him on tour, with the first show at Perth's Astor Theatre on Thursday 8 October. Ure then plays The Gov in Adelaide on Saturday 10 October before heading up to Brisbane for a gig at The Tivoli on Sunday 11 October. Shows at Hobart's Odeon Theatre on Tuesday 13 October and Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Thursday 15 October follow, before the final gig at Melbourne's Palais Theatre on Friday 16 October.

Midge Ure has achieved much across his near six-decade career, including winning the Ivor Novello and a Grammy Award, while also being appointed OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for his contributions to music and charity.

He's also been involved in the making of a slew of #1 hit singles and records, including Silk's 'Forever & Ever', Visage's 'Fade To Grey' and the legendary 1984 Band Aid single 'Do They Know It’s Christmas?' which has sold over 12 million copies since its release in 1984.

Having performed with everyone from Phil Collins and Mark Knopfler to Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney, Ure's long-awaited Australian return is not to be missed.
