Mercury Prize Winner Benjamin Clementine Announces Debut Australian Tour

Mercury Prize-winning artist Benjamin Clementine is heading our way for the very first time this October on his Back to Basics Australian Tour.

The British composer, hailed by critics for his sparse yet emotional piano creations, is thrilled to introduce Australian audiences to his extraordinary voice, haunting piano compositions and intensely theatrical command of the stage. 

Clemetine's tour arrives alongside the release of his latest single, 'Pizza Mind', which finds the artistic auteur using images of ovens, dough, crusts, heat and flavour to examine modern passivity, armchair expertise and the fear of making difficult choices.

The Back to Basics tour kicks off in Adelaide at Dunstan Playhouse on Thursday 15 October, followed by Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 21 October and a final concert at Fremantle Arts Centre in Perth on Saturday 24 October.

Tickets for the Adelaide show are on sale now, with pre-sale tickets for the Sydney and Perth concerts on sale Monday 17 August, followed by general on-sale on Wednesday 19 August. Ticketing information is available at act3presents.com.

Born in London to parents of Ghanaian descent, Benjamin Clementine's artistic expression was shaped during his formative years in Paris.

Finding fame over a decade ago with his 2015 Mercury Prize-winning debut album At Least for Now, Clementine draws from classical music, theatre and poetry.

He's released three studio albums, performed at many of the world’s leading concert halls, theatres and festivals and expanded into film and acting.

Clementine's current Back to Basics tour finds him returning to the essence of his artistry: one voice, one piano. Each concert offers audiences an opportunity to encounter an artist whose performances remain deeply personal, uncompromising and unforgettable.
