Level 42 Announce Australian Tour 2027

 

This is the UK jazz-funk outfit’s first tour of Australia.

Almost 50 years on since their formation, the UK’s jazz funk outfit Level 42 are making their long-awaited Australian tour debut in 2027.

Rising to fame in the ‘80s with their unique jazz meets funk sound, Level 42 released several Top 5 Albums and Singles and became a huge success across the UK and Europe.

Performing tracks from their 1985 breakthrough album World Machine alongside a set of their greatest hits, Level 42 will showcase their signature sound on their first trip down under with a setlist stacked with classics including ‘Lessons in Love,’ ‘Something About You,’ ‘Running in the Family,’ ‘Hot Water’, ‘Love Games’ and many more.

Level 42’s Australian tour begins at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Monday 18 January, followed by gigs at Adelaide’s The Gov on Thursday 21 January, the Palais Theatre in Melbourne on Friday 22 January and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Sunday 24 January, with the final show at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Wednesday 27 January.

Formed in 1979 by vocalist and bassist Mark King, keyboardist Mike Lindup and brothers Phil (drums) and Boon Gould (guitar), Level 42 released five albums before finally crossing over in 1985 with World Machine, featuring their most well-known track ‘Something About You’.

With a career spanning more than four decades, Level 42 are considered one of the UK’s most influential acts, having sold over 30 million albums, released 18 UK Top 40 singles and earned a reputation for their electrifying live shows.

The band’s upcoming tour of Australia promises to be one fans won’t want to miss.
