Last Dinosaurs are celebrating the tenth anniversary of their seminal sophomore album Wellness by releasing a reimagined version of the record titled Wellnxss.

Arriving Friday 13 February via Canadian label Nettwerk (pre-order here), Wellnxss contains the ten standard tracks from the original album re-recorded alongside five never-heard-before tracks.

Having already shared a slew of tracks from the album, including new versions of ‘Kxrma’ and ‘Exie’ and previously unreleased songs ‘Dive’ and Dead or Alive’, the band have gifted fans another double single.

‘Apxllo’ is a new version of fan favourite ‘Apollo’, which has become the band’s set closer when performing live, while ‘Pink Flags’ is a previously unreleased indie track with swirling guitars.

Reflecting on Wellnxss and the new version of the album, vocalist and guitarist Sean Caskey says, “Ten years ago, Lach, Sloane, Dan, and I released our sophomore album Wellness! It was the second chance for four boys from Brisbane State High to make another leap in the music world.

“I used to look back on this album as a bit of a failure, as there was so much pressure to follow up In a Million Years, but now I see it as the catalyst for the way we make music today. It forced us to completely change our approach to recording music by doing it all ourselves. This was after we dropped the demos on YouTube; the reaction to those lo-fi recordings was a massive surprise to us. That really inspired us to have more confidence in our own abilities and was the driving force behind Yumeno Garden. We’re so thankful to our fans, because it’s your positive energy that motivates us to keep pushing ourselves in the direction we need to go.”

He goes on to add, “These days, Wellness seems to be one of our fan favourites. We never used to play ‘Apollo’ live, but a few years later, it became one of the most enjoyable songs to play. We get requests to play a lot of the songs from Wellness, so we try to squeeze them into the set wherever we can. It means a lot to us that these songs mean something to you. I’ve dwelled on them a lot lately, and some other songs from that same era that never made the album, and we’re looking forward to showing you some special records soon.”

While originally from Brisbane, Last Dinosaurs have become massively popular overseas, with the trio of brothers Lachlan and Sean Caskey and Michael Sloane regularly selling out shows across the US, UK, Europe, Southeast Asia and South Africa.

Announcing themselves in 2012 with their debut album, In a Million Years (2012), Last Dinosaurs have gone on to release four more albums – Wellness (2015), Yumeno Garden (2018), From Mexico With Love (2022) and KYORYU (2024).

The lads have also toured with the likes of Florence + the Machine, Foals, Matt & Kim and Foster the People and performed at international festivals including Lollapalooza, Corona Capital and All Things Go Festival.

The release of Wellnxss coincides with a run of shows across North America, with Last Dinosaurs locking in 25 shows from February to March 2026. Fingers crossed Last Dinosaurs have an Aussie tour in the works.
