Katie Noonan, one of Australia’s most accomplished voices, has announced the release of her 30th studio album, Alone But All One, out Friday 26 June (pre-order here).
An exploration of love in all its forms, the album marks Noonan’s first songwriting collaboration with acclaimed writer Trent Dalton and features The River Suite String Quartet.
“This album is for anyone who’s gone through a life shift – not just separation, but grief, uncertainty, or quiet reinvention,” reveals Noonan. “It’s music for sitting with things. For remembering we’re not alone, even in solitude. It’s personal, but I hope it will resonate in a way that becomes collective.”
Accompanying the announcement is the album’s first single, ‘This Isn’t What I Signed Up For’, along with a slew of national tour dates. Hitting the road with Noonan (excluding Sydney and Margaret River) will be Australian singer-songwriter Mark Wilkinson.
Noonan’s Australian tour begins with a show at Old Museum Concert Hall in Brisbane/Turrbul Jagera Country on Friday 10 July. She then performs two shows at the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney/Gadigal Country on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July. The remaining dates take place at The Rechabite in Perth/Whadjuk Noongar Country on Thursday 16 July, Camelot Arts Club in Mosman Park/Whadjuk Noongar Country on Friday 17 July, Miss Chow’s in Margaret River/Wadandi Boodja Country on Saturday 18 July and The Gov in Adelaide/Kaurna Country on Thursday 30 July, with the final show at Melbourne Recital Centre in Melbourne/Naarm on Saturday 1 August.
