The album anniversaries keep on coming this year, with the latest being UK indie rockers Kaiser Chiefs celebrating 20 years of their debut album, Employment.
Released in 2005, Employment peaked at #2 on the UK Album Chart, helped secure the band three BRIT Awards and was universally praised by critics.
“Twenty years ago, a brand new song by a brand new band was released. 'I Predict A Riot' was the start of something really special for some musicians from Leeds,” the band said in a statement.
"The album that followed, Employment, changed our lives and has soundtracked the lives of millions of others since 2005. In 2025, we are saluting 20 years of that album and everyone is invited. Come celebrate the 2000s, loving everything less and less, and stripey blazers taking over the world."
Touring Australia for the first time in 13 years, Kaiser Chiefs have locked in four dates, although Adelaide didn’t make the cut.
The 20 Years of Employment Australian tour hits Perth’s RAC Arena on Sunday 23 November, Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Tuesday 25 November, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Thursday 27 November and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Friday 28 November.
There are several pre-sale options available, with the Artist and Mastercard pre-sale running from Friday 27 June, 10:30am local time, until Tuesday 1 July, 10:30am local time.
Secret Sounds pre-sale follows on Monday 30 June, 10:30am local time, until Tueday 1 July, 10:30am local time.
General on-sale kicks off Tuesday 1 July, 11:30am local time.
