Hugh Cornwell Announces 2026 Australia Tour
Hugh Cornwell is best known as the original voice of The Stranglers.

Legendary singer and guitarist Hugh Cornwell returns to Australia in June for a national tour.
The original vocalist of The Stranglers, Cornwell has been a pioneering figure in music for more than five decades.
As leader of The Stranglers, he was the band’s principal songwriter, responsible for the hit single ‘Golden Brown’ from the band’s 1981 album La Folie.
After leaving The Stranglers in 1990, Cornwell has navigated a successful solo career, releasing ten studio albums, with his most recent being 2022’s Moments of Madness.
Cornwell’s Australian tour begins at The Rosemount in Perth on Friday 19 June. He and his talented band then perform at Adelaide’s The Gov on Thursday 18 June, Brisbane’s Crowbar on Sunday 14 June, Sydney’s Manning Bar on Saturday 13 June, Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Friday 12 June and Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal on Wednesday 10 June.

Hugh Cornwell formed The Stranglers in 1974 with bassist Jean-Jacques Burnel, drummer Jet Black and keyboardist Hans Wärmling. The band went through several lineup changes during Cornwell’s tenure, which also included ten studio albums, including No More Heroes and Black and White, which both peaked at #2 on the UK Album Charts.
Since leaving The Stranglers in 1990, Cornwell has released ten solo studio albums, over ten live albums and collaborated with a slew of musicians, poets and writers.
He’s also written several books and hosted a film podcast while continuing to play live across the globe.

The tour comes in support of Zara Larsson’s fifth long player, Midnight Sun.
