It’s hard not to love what Holly Hebe is doing. The dream pop songstress continues to leave listeners spellbound with her intimate releases, and new single ‘Billboards’ is no different.
One of Australia’s rising voices, Hebe entwines emotional poetry with dreamy, piano alt-pop, crafting introspective ballads that are hard to shake.
Following the previously released tracks ‘Bitterness’ and ‘Don’t Come Crying’, Hebe’s latest rumination on love and relationships is a swirling and exhilirating pop number recalling prime Maggie Rogers, one of Hebe’s favourite artist.
“This is a song about one-sided relationships and the desperation that they generate,” Hebe explains. “It’s about how disinterest makes you want the person more, and go to crazy lengths to try and show this to them.”

Growing up around music, it didn’t take long for Hebe to realise getting into the buisness was what she wanted to do. She released a slew of singles before dropping her debut EP, party mix, in 2022, and followed up last year with the acclaimed EP Ruby.
A recipient of the Music Australia Export Development Fund, Hebe headed to LA for a workshop with likes of Anwar Sawyer (Roc Nation – Ella Rosa, Audrey Nuna), Jack Kleinick (grent perez) and Elin Sandberg (musician for Harry Styles), telling The Note the experience helped push her out of her comfort zone and trained up her “ability to switch in and out of songwriting mode.”
2025 has seen Hebe share several singles, highlighting her growth as an artist, while also being handpicked to perform at this SXSW Austin. Hebe also sold out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne as part of Great Southern Nights and is back on the road in July, supporting indie folk duo The Dreggs.
‘Billboards’ by Holly Hebe is out now. Catch Hebe supporting The Dreggs at Hindley Street Music Hall on Saturday, July 19. Tickets on sale now via moshtix.com.au.
