After announcing their live return, Sydney punk rockers Hellions have shared new single, ‘Fear Flow’.
The first taste of new music from Hellions in eight years, ‘Fear Flow’ is a booming two minutes and forty seconds of punk grit with industrial-tinged riffs reminiscent of The Prodigy. Turn it up loud and rock out!
“We're happy to be back playing some rock and roll. It was an honour to work alongside long time friend and producer, Shane Edwards on the rebirth of Hellions,” the band said in a statement. “It's surreal having new music out there. We can't wait to play it live on the Opera Oblivia Anniversary tour. This isn't a nostalgia run... this is new energy.”
‘Fear Flow’ arrives a day before Hellions kick off their national tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their seminal third album, Opera Oblivia.
The 10-track release made it all the way to #4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and received critical praise, with Hysteria Mag calling Opera Oblivia Hellions’ “Nevermind, their Rocket to Russia, their Number of the Beast.”
Hitting the road alongside Newcastle’s punk pop quartet The Beautiful Monument and Perth’s emerging singer-songwriter RinRin, Hellions 10th anniversary album tour begins in Melbourne at Max Watts on Thursday 7 May.
Dates follow at Adelaide’s The Gov on Friday 8 May, Fremantle’s Freo.Social on Saturday 9 May, Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Thursday 14 May and Brisbane’s The Triffid on Friday 15 May, with the final gig at the Coolangatta Hotel on the Gold Coast on Saturday 16 May.

Sydney-based Hellions are a pioneering fusion of post-hardcore aggression and melodic alt-rock sonics. Formed in 2013, the band quickly released their debut album Die Young that same year, following up two years later with Indian Summer.
Establishing themselves as one of Australia’s most ambitious alternative acts, it was Hellions’ landmark third record, Opera Oblivia, that got them noticed internationally, with the release debuting at #4 on the ARIA Charts and receiving an ARIA Award nomination.
Hellions’ fourth album Rue arrived in 2018 before the band disbanded, only to reunite with the core lineup of Dre Faivre, Matthew Gravolin, Anthony Caruso and Josh Campiao to celebrate their legacy through the 10th Anniversary of Opera Oblivia this year.
Fingers crossed the release of ‘Fear Flow’ means a new album is in the works.
