Gyroscope are back with their first taste of new music since 2019. ‘My Broken Spine’ is a riff-tastic bulldozer of a track that sees the quartet returning to their heavier roots.
‘My Broken Spine’ also marks the debut of new drummer Sim Dreja, who brings a bold new vibe to Gyroscope.
Speaking on the recording process, frontman Dan Sanders says, “We set up our own recording studio called The Skullery, and produced and engineered the track entirely ourselves. Continuing that vibe, we created Skullery Records to release our new tunes, and we can’t wait for people to hear the first taste.”
Gyroscope are hitting the road in support of the single, with a run of dates across the country kicking off next weekend in Adelaide at Lion Arts Factory alongside Magic Dirt on Friday 5 December and as part of the Live in Lincoln Festival lineup on Saturday 6 December.
The band kick off 2026 at the Vat 2 Beach Concert in Bunbury on Friday 20 February and follow this with dates at Night Cat in Melbourne on Friday 20 March, Caltowie Chilled Out ‘n’ Fired Up Festival in Caltowie on Saturday 21 March, Brisbane’s Crowbar on Friday 27 March, Sydney’s Crowbar on Saturday 28 March and Margaret River’s The River on Saturday 11 April, with the final gig at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel on Saturday 25 April.
