Paul Dempsey Plots ‘Christmas Karaoke’ Australian Tour

Expect to hear a few Christmas surprises as part of the ever-evolving setlist.

After performing to huge crowds last year on his Shotgun Karaoke tour, Something For Kate's Paul Dempsey has announced an encore run of shows taking place in four capital cities this December.

Dubbed Christmas Karaoke, Dempsey will perform an ever-evolving setlist of covers with support from singer-songwriter Jess Hitchcock.

"I've been having such a blast doing these Shotgun Karaoke shows, the atmosphere at every show has just been pure joy with everyone singing along and getting right into it," Dempsey says. "I’m looking forward to some festive good times with this last handful of shows and then getting back to my own writing and a new Something for Kate album in the works."

Dempsey's Christmas Karaoke tour kicks off at City Recital Hall in Sydney on Friday 4 December, followed by shows at Adelaide's The Gov on Friday 11 December and Brisbane's The Tivoli on Saturday 12 December, with the tour wrapping up in Melbourne at The Forum on Saturday 19 December 19.

A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the following organisations in each city who provide vital support to people experiencing homelessness – Sydney: Wayside Chapel, Melbourne: Sacred Heart Mission, Adelaide: Catherine House and Brisbane: Emmanuel City Mission.

Dempsey's last solo tour came in support of 2025's Shotgun Karaoke Vol. II, a record featuring the singer-songwriter covering songs from the likes of Cher, Patti Smith, R.E.M., Don Henley and more.

After selling out his metropolitan tour late last year, taking in the Sydney Opera House, the Palais Theatre, QPAC and more, Dempsey recently toured regional areas, adding new songs to his setlist, with his upcoming encore shows sure to include a Christmas surprise or two.
