Rising Aussie singer-songwriter Fletcher Kent is embarking on a national tour next year.
Currently gearing up to support Lewis Capaldi on his December run of shows, Kent’s tour announcement coincides with the release of his new single, ‘Open to the Light’.
The song is a wistful guitar ballad showcasing Kent’s rich voice and emotion-filled lyrics, ushering in a new chapter for the Melbourne artist. ‘Open to the Light’ is raw, heartfelt and hits you right in the feels.
“‘Open to the Light’ was written from a place of anxiety and fear of a changing season in my life,” says Kent. “The song is about acknowledging that feeling and then releasing it. Knowing all you can do at any moment is your best. To be present, grateful and welcome the change.”
Kent’s Australian tour begins in Adelaide at the Grace Emily Hotel on Thursday 5 February. He continues with dates at Perth’s Four5nine on Friday 6 February, Melbourne’s The Tote on Friday 13 February, Brisbane’s PFR Lounge on Saturday 14 February, and Sydney’s Trocadero Room on Friday 20 February.

Releasing his debut single ‘I’ll Be’ in 2024, Kent has made his mark this year with a string of well-received tracks – ‘Are You Ready’, ‘Wasted’, ‘Blindspot’, and new song ‘Open to the Light’.
A month-long residency at Old Mate’s in New York (the Hamish & Andy co-founded pub) worked wonders for his profile overseas. An East Coast pub tour, a performance as part of Live Nation’s Ones To Watch, and a fan-voted slot at Rolling Sets Festival have also brought Kent to the attention of media outlets and music fans across the country.
‘Open to the Light’ is arguably Kent’s best track yet, with the emerging talent’s meteoric rise set to continue in 2026.
